AFTERCARE:

•  Leave bandage on for a minimum of two hours.

•  Carefully remove bandage.  If it sticks, soak it off with warm water.

•  Gently clean the area with a mild soap (Antibacterial Dial or similar).

•  Allow to air dry, apply a thin layer of ointment (AQUAPHOR or CUREL lotion -  NO NEOSPORIN!).  It is VERY important to keep the tattoo clean.   Exposure to lint, dust, or other foreign material can cause infection.

•  Repeat this procedure every 4 - 6 hours for the first 2 days.

•  The tattoo will dry out and possibly scab and flake.  THIS IS NORMAL!  At this point, a non-fragrant lotion such as Curel or Lubriderm will help the healing process greatly.

•  ANY exposure to the sun (including tanning beds) will cause the tattoo to burn, increasing the risk of infection and loss of color.  ABSOLUTELY NO TANNING FOR 2 WEEKS!  It is a good idea to always wear sunblock on the tattoo.  This will greatly extend the color life of your tattoo.

  1. NO SWIMMING FOR 2 WEEKS!  Over saturation of water on the fresh tattoo will increase the risk of infection and loss of color.  Showering is okay (people do ask).
